Introduction

WS Browser is a service platform provided to users (hereinafter referred to as “you”) by Web Space Browser Pte. Ltd. and its affiliated companies (collectively referred to as “WS” or “we”). Through this WS Browser Basic Features Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Privacy Policy”), we aim to clearly explain how we collect, use, process, and protect your personal information when you use our products and/or services.

1. Scope of Application

This Privacy Policy applies to all basic feature services of the WS Browser provided by WS. For the avoidance of doubt, basic features refer to services provided through WS Browser, including searching and accessing websites, browsing information, downloading content, and security protection services.

This Privacy Policy sets forth our statements and commitments regarding the processing and protection of personal information involved in the provision of basic feature services of WS Browser.

Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to products and/or services provided to you by third-party platforms that you access through WS Browser. When using products and/or services provided by third parties, you should carefully read their respective privacy policies or similar notices and make prudent decisions.

Before using our basic features, please carefully read and fully understand this Privacy Policy, especially the clauses highlighted in bold or bold underlined text, and confirm that you fully understand and agree before proceeding. Your consent to this Privacy Policy only represents your consent to the collection of personal information necessary for basic features.

In addition, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law and other applicable laws and regulations, we may process your personal information without obtaining your consent under the following circumstances:

  1. Where it is necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract to which you are a party;
  2. Where it is necessary to perform statutory duties or legal obligations;
  3. Where it is necessary to respond to public health emergencies or to protect the life, health, or property safety of individuals in emergency situations;
  4. Where personal information that has been voluntarily disclosed by you or otherwise lawfully disclosed is processed within a reasonable scope in accordance with the law;
  5. Other circumstances stipulated by laws or administrative regulations.

II. Information We Collect and How We Use It

WS Browser can be used without registering an account. In the current version, we do not associate your data with any account by default, nor do we upload it to the cloud or conduct cross-platform advertising tracking.

If, in the future, it becomes necessary to enhance user experience, product functionality, or business cooperation, we may enable related features with your consent or as permitted by law.

We adhere to the principles of lawfulness, legitimacy, and necessity. To provide basic feature services, we may collect and use your information for the purposes described below. You have the right to choose whether to provide such information; if you do not, certain services may not function properly.

(I) Searching and Accessing Web Pages

1. Standard Mode

In this mode, you may search for and access web content. To ensure optimal display, security, and stability, we collect:

  • Device information: including device model, device identifiers (such as Android ID for Android versions below Q or OAID), operating system version, network type, screen size and resolution, system settings (such as language and region), and accelerometer data (used for screen orientation switching).

  • Search keywords: used to enable search functionality and facilitate repeated input or relevant result display.

  • Clipboard data (triggered only when copying/pasting): used for quick search services; this information is not stored.

If you use the “Scan” feature (for barcodes, QR codes, etc.), camera permission is required, and ambient light sensor information may be collected to optimize scanning performance. Captured content is used only for real-time processing and is not stored.

2. Incognito Mode

In Incognito Mode, we still collect the above device information to ensure proper operation, but we do not store your browsing history, website data, cookies, or information entered into forms.

(II) Browsing Web Pages

When you browse web pages using WS Browser:

  • We do not upload your browsing history to our servers; all records are stored locally on your device and can be cleared at any time via browser settings;
  • For necessary functionality (such as localized page display), we may perform regional adaptation based on your IP address, but this information is not used for other purposes;
  • When you use the webpage sharing feature, we may read application list information (e.g., WeChat) solely to provide sharing channels and do not collect or store additional information;
  • You understand and agree that, provided your personal identity is not involved, WS may use de-identified or anonymized data for advertising optimization, product improvement, market analysis, or business cooperation.

(III) Downloads

To provide download services, we may invoke download management functions from our partners and require:

  • Device storage permission (for Android versions below Q) to save files;
  • Network status, download path, custom file name, and download URL, which are used solely to enable download functionality.

(IV) Security Management

For security purposes, we collect:

  • Device identifiers (Android ID or OAID);
  • Suspicious link (URL) information, used only to identify risky websites and protect users from phishing attacks.

(V) Personalized Content or Advertising Recommendations

WS Browser may recommend more relevant content or advertisements based on your device information, IP address, search keywords, and browsing behavior (including visited URLs, content exposure, and clicks).

  • We do not conduct cross-platform advertising tracking or associate such data with personal identity;
  • If you do not wish to receive personalized recommendations, you may disable them in browser settings.

(VI) Summary of System Permissions Used

  • Storage permission: for downloading and managing local files;
  • Camera permission: for scan features or webpage image uploads;
  • Microphone permission: used only when webpages require voice input;
  • Location permission: used only when required by webpages (e.g., map services).
